On July 19th, 2018, the GazettE began the first phase of their LIVE TOUR18-19 THE NINTH. The band tore through venues all across Japan—and later the world—for more than a year promoting their album NINTH. With only one live left, we’re counting down the days until the GazettE rocks the massive Yokohama Arena for THE NINTH Tour Final. Here’s a look back at the tour so far.
PHASE #01 -PHENOMENON-
PHASE #01 -PHENOMENON- was exclusively a hall tour, kicking things off at Misato City Cultural Hall in Saitama Prefecture where they played two consecutive lives. After touring for nearly two months, this phase wrapped up at Kanagawa Kenmin Hall on September 4th, 2018.

PHASE#02 -ENHANCEMENT-
PHASE #02 -ENHANCEMENT- spanned 11 live houses between November 6th and December 11th. The band played in venues from CLUB CITTA in Kanagawa through Miyagi, Osaka, Aichi, Tokyo, and Fukuoka—ending with back-to-back lives at Shinkiba STUDIO COAST in Tokyo.

PHASE #03 –激情は獰猛–
By February of this year, the GazettE was back at it. PHASE #03 –GEKIJOU WA DOUMOU– (PASSION IS FEROCIOUS) marked the band’s return to small live houses from the 450-person Takadanobaba AREA in Shinjuku to a pair of fan club-only lives at Shibuya O-East on March 19th and 20th.

PHASE #04 -99.999-
The next phase marked the GazettE’s third world tour. PHASE #04 -99.999- took the band to 15 cities across 12 countries. The first show was held at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California on April 30th. They played four shows in North America before heading south to Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. After making only a brief return to Japan, the five quickly set out to tackle Europe and Asia, ending the phase with two lives in Taipei.
The members kept fans abreast of their movements through social media and blog posts—everything from broken chopsticks to videos Kai took of the crowd after each live. Even after returning to Japan, Ruki has continued to share stories from their time abroad.

PHASE#05 -「混血」-
As fans waited for the Tour Final to approach, the GazettE made a surprise announcement: another phase of THE NINTH. They would play one more show to mark the end of a successful tour overseas. PHASE #05 「KONKETSU」 (MIXED BLOOD) was held at Yokosuka Arts Theater on August 15th.
Fans packed into every level of the venue for the sold-out show. The venue resonated with the wild enthusiasm of fans as the band played the experimental set list, featuring old favorites like DIM SCENE seamlessly nestled in between the new songs from NINTH.

THE NINTH TOUR FINAL-「第九」
The next live will be the last for this tour. After heating up venues across the world for more than a year, the GazettE’s LIVE TOUR18-19 THE NINTH Tour Final 「第九」 (DAIKU / NINTH) will be held on September 23rd, 2019 at the 17,000-seat Yokohama Arena.
Tickets for overseas fans are available for sale through eplus. A few things to keep in mind:
- Tickets are limited to four per person.
- VISA, MasterCard, and Alipay are the only accepted forms of payment.
- The person who places the order must be present to pick up the tickets at the venue on the day of the live, and they will be required to show a valid form of photo identification, such as a passport.
- You cannot choose your seat. All seating assignments will be made available on the day of the live when you receive your tickets at the venue.
