Romaji of the song ワイフ (WAIFU) from the compilation album Dainippon itangeishateki noumiso (gyaku) kaiten zekkyou ongenshuu and the EP Akuyuukai by the GazettE.

The music and lyrics were re-recorded for this song on later releases. This is the Akuyuukai / Dainippon…(gyaku)…ongenshuu version, NOT the original version.

Lyrics originally sung in English are in italics , and words or phrases I felt were implied are in [brackets] in the translation.

I also (usually) put repeats of chorus/verses/stanzas in [brackets] if they’re not written that way in the original lyrics for ease of singing along.

If he writes a word in the lyrics but doesn’t sing it, I put it in light grey to make it easier to skip when singing along.

I usually romajize katakana characters in CAPITALS, and keep punctuation and line spacing as close to the original booklet as possible. If you see me putting spaces before punctuation at the end of a sentence or writing things in mixed-case capitals, that’s because it’s how it was in the booklet.

“Type B after all… (stifled laugh)²”

This is one of only a few songs whose lyrics were basically completely rewritten from one release to the next. Two versions of both the music and the lyrics exist – the original being from the Gozen 0-ji no torauma RAJIO single (and seen in the PV above) and the other from the Akuyuukai EP / Dainippon compilation album. I presume the song was rewritten and re-recorded because they released the EP/compilation album after the original drummer, Yune, left the band and Kai joined. (In fact, they don’t have anything pre-Kai listed in their discography on their own website.)

He yells something repeatedly in the background (with the guys responding on gang vocals) that’s not in the lyrics.
This part is written in the lyrics but not sung.
This refers to the long-held Japanese belief that blood types and personalities are connected. The theory even goes so far as to list compatibility of people of certain blood types in relationships with one another. More information on Japanese blood types and personalities here.
Basically ,the guy in the song just wants to bang, and the girl wants a relationship. It sounds like he told her this from the get-go (or else assumed she knew because of the crass pick-up line), and ends up annoyed that she’s being clingy even though he told her he just wanted to hook up.

I also feel like the title “WIFE” is kind of an exasperated nod to how this girl is acting like they’re “together” – like, “All I want is to sleep with you but now you’re acting like we’re married or something.”
